From signing up to the trek to months leading up to it and from arriving in Tanzania to the whole climb, Jack, Jackson and their team looked after me so well.

I felt very safe and incredibly well looked after by the whole Legend team - guides, porters and chefs.

To put it simply, everything was perfect.

My partner and I joined the Legend team for the 8 day Lemosho route up Kili and then 3 days of Safari.

Everything about summit day was unbelievable, even down to the minute perfect timing of the guides getting us to the crater for a spectacular sunrise.

What is very visible on the mountain is how Legend treats their team, from climbers to porters as well as looking out for other teams. Jack (the guide and co-founder) would look out for the welfare of other climbers and porters, taking their load at times even when they were not from the same team. Legend’s ethos is very clear.

It was great to see the passion for investing in their crew and the local economy.

We did a three-day safari covering Ngorongoro Crater, Tarangire National Park, and Lake Manyara, and it was absolutely EPIC. Our guide, Magoma, was brilliant - so knowledgeable about the animals, a great laugh, and he made sure we had the best experience possible.

Climbing Kilimanjaro has been a dream of mine for years, and coming from the U.S. it felt like a big leap. But Jack and the Legend Expeditions team made it so easy, from the pre-trip planning and support to every detail on the ground in Tanzania. All I really had to do was show up and be ready for the trip of a lifetime.

Having had the desire to tackle the mountain for a while it was time to take the leap. Deciding to travel with Jack & the Legend Team was a no brainer. From the very beginning of the process you are put at ease and can feel excited about the journey ahead.

Arriving to an unknown group was a little daunting but the Legend Team are literally that … legends. I’ve never felt more supported by all involved. It is clear to see the dedication of the team to make the climb a success for all.

• Ethical treatment and fair wages for porters (Jack even stepped in to support porters from other companies when needed)

• Flawless arrangements - airport pick-up, hotel bookings, day bag support on tough days, and so much more

I met Jack on a Zoom call before climbing Kilimanjaro with a different company. He gave us all valuable insight even though we weren't going with Legend. That, to me, speaks volumes about a person's character and integrity. When I added a safari weeks later, it was organised swiftly and tailored to me.
